Report: Nintendo Switch with 4K Output, Bigger Screen Will Be Out This Year

According to Bloomberg, Nintendo is planning to release a beefier version of the popular Switch console. The details are light, but Nintendo has tapped Samsung to develop an OLED screen 7 inches across. The current Switch is 6.2 and the Switch Lite is 5.5 inches.

Another major upgrade to Nintendo Switch will be the resolution output. The new model will output 4K when docked and connected to a TV, which is a major difference to the current 720p output.

The Bloomberg report says that the Samsung screens will start production in June and will be sent for assembly in July, so it looks like the new Nintendo Switch model will be ready in time for the holidays.
