Gritty Has a Message for Non-Philadelphians at the Webby Awards

We love Gritty and the rest of the web loves him too. The Flyers mascot won the award for "People's Voice Award for Social: Athletes and Sports" at the Webby awards which celebrates all things online. Gritty got all dressed to the nines with a suit and took the stage in New York to accept the award. I love that even though he was in a suit, he still had his hockey helmet on.

What's traditional at the Webby's is to make a five-word acceptance speech and Gritty complied. After squeaking his hands, he held up a sign that read "It pronounced wooder, not water" and then shot some confetti into the audience. Truer words have never been spoken.

Congrats Gritty. Take a look at his acceptance speech below!
