Sports, a business development division of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB), joins forces with Operation Gratitude, PECO and Lockheed Martin to support our troops on Operation Gratitude Day. Alongside local military commands, and led by the Naval Supply Systems Command's Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS), PHL Sports will collect donations and letters of appreciation for the members of our armed forces working and fighting on behalf of our country.
Collection boxes will be set up in the lobbies of 25 office buildings throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding area. Desired items include: toiletries (lip balm, toothpaste, toothbrushes and roll-on deodorant); clothing (socks, scarves, gloves, knit hats); gift cards (VISA/Mastercard or chain stores such as Walmart, Target, and drugstores); miscellaneous items (such as books, DVDs, travel board games, video games, or Halloween candy), as well as letters of appreciation.

DETAILS: Operation Gratitude is a non-profit organization, providing civilians anywhere in America a way to express their respect and appreciation to the men and women of the U.S. Military through collection drives, letter-writing campaigns, craft projects and financial donations. An initiative of the PHLCVB Foundation’s Red, White & You program since 2003, Operation Gratitude Day has provided Philadelphians with an opportunity to donate items for care packages being sent to service members overseas, their families and children, as well as to Wounded Warriors, Veterans and First Responders.
