For the eighth consecutive year, PHL Sports, a business development division of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB), has teamed up with Operation Gratitude to host Operation Gratitude Day in Philadelphia TODAY, November 7, 2018!

From 8:00am to 1:00pm, collection boxes will be set up in 25 buildings across Greater Philadelphia. Desired items include: toiletries (lip balm, toothpaste, toothbrushes, all-purpose wipes and roll-on deodorant); food (drink mix, gum, non-perishable items); clothing (socks, scarves, gloves, knit hats); gift cards (VISA/Mastercard or chain stores such as Walmart, Target, and drugstores); miscellaneous items (such as books, batteries, DVDs, travel board games, or video games), as well as letters of appreciation.

“Operation Gratitude Day is an initiative of the PHLCVB Foundation’s Red, White & You community outreach program that seeks to lift our overseas troops’ morale, and remind them of the love and support waiting for them at home,” said PHL Sports Executive Director Larry Needle. “Last year, Philadelphia collected more than 3,000 pounds of goods and approximately $4,500 in monetary contributions, and we look forward to another year of generosity from the community.”
