Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau knew what they were getting into when they started their long-distance relationship.
A source recently told People that the "Woman's World" singer and the former Canadian prime minister are navigating their romance by seeing each other when they can while still prioritizing their children. Perry shares 5-year-old daughter Daisy with ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom, while Trudeau is a dad to sons Xavier, 18, and Hadrian, 12, as well as daughter Ella-Grace, 17, with estranged wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, who he separated from in August 2023.
"The priority for both of them is stability for the kids. Katy and Justin have had to be flexible to make the relationship work," the insider said. "They travel whenever they can to spend time together. The long-distance dynamic was never a surprise to them."
The source added that both Perry and Trudeau, who first sparked romance rumors in July 2025, "understood from the beginning that their lives were complicated and that it wouldn't be the easiest relationship logistically." Despite this, they "really wanted to see where things would go, and have been determined to make it work."
The "Firework" singer confirmed her relationship with the Canadian politician in December, going Instagram official with several snaps of the pair spending time together in Japan. Earlier this month, she shared even more photos of her beau and even gave some hilarious insight into their relationship.
