Jennifer Lopez is reportedly feeling "relieved" after filing for divorce from Ben Affleck after two years of marriage.

A source close to the This Is Me... Now singer told People that even though she "didn't want" a divorce, she is feeling some relief after filing to end her marriage to the Argo director. Previous reports claimed that Affleck didn't show any interest in repairing his rocky relationship with Lopez amid months-long speculation surrounding the state of their marriage.

"It's been incredibly difficult for her that Ben chose to pull away from their marriage and move on with his life, leaving her behind," the source said. "She didn't want a divorce. She wanted to figure things out. They love each other. Jennifer is not the type to just give up. It's been almost torture for her to wait around."

The "On the Floor" singer and the Academy Award winner were reportedly waiting to announce their split to "make sure everything is seamless." However, Lopez filed for divorce earlier this month and according to the source, "she seems relieved," especially as she has a support system lifting her up.

"Her family and friends agree that it was the right decision," they continued. "She's surrounded by a lot of love and support. She'll be fine. She's strong and always comes out on top."

Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20, the second anniversary of their Georgia wedding, but listed the date of their separation as April 26, 2024, seemingly confirming reports of trouble in their marriage that began circulating after he was seen without his wedding ring and she "liked" a cryptic post about unhealthy relationships.
