Twitter Exploring Subscription Service To Reduce Ads

Looks like Twitter is exploring life with way less ads on its platform. Good thing. right?

The catch? You’ll have to subscribe if you want premium access.

According to Bloomberg, Twitter is looking into a subscription platform where uses will pay a monthly fee for “premium” access, which includes possibly charging extra for Tweetdeck or advanced profile customization. There’s also talk of a tipping feature, where users will pay or tip others for exclusive access to content on that profile.

This is all preliminary and still in the exploratory process, but other social media platforms are also looking into a paid model, such as Facebook. There will also be the “free” version, but there will also be an ad-free experience with a subscription.

Only time will tell.
