Surprising news on Monday - it appears that ABC has let go of not just one, but both the hosts of “Dancing with the Stars.”
Host Tom Bergeron tweeted Monday, “Just informed @DancingABC will be continuing without me”, suggesting that he had no part in this decision.
He continued, “It’s been an incredible 15 year run and the most unexpected gift of my career. I’m grateful for that and for the lifelong friendships made. That said, now what am I supposed to do with all of these glitter masks?”
But that’s not all - not only has Bergeron been let go - but it appears co-host Erin Andrews has been let go too by the show. Vulture reports that there’s no official reason, but that the show is going “in a new creative direction” ahead of its upcoming 29th season.
The show released a statement, saying: “Tom Bergeron will forever be part of the Dancing with the Stars family. He departs the show with our sincerest thanks and gratitude for his trademark wit and charm that helped make this show a success. Erin will also not be returning, and we appreciate all that she brought to the ballroom.”
