Philadelphia is going to be the first city in all the Western Hemisphere to build a multi-million dollar e-sports arena. The $50 million arena is going to be at the Philadelphia Sports Complex in South Philly.
This is big! If you don't know what e-sports is, it's video gaming competitions. It's becoming super big with some estimates saying it's a billion dollar industry.
As you may know, Philly has its own e-sports team called the Philadelphia Fusion! It was started in 2017. This arena will become its home in 2021.
According to Comcast, who is part of the owner of the arena, it should seat 3,500 guests. It is also planned to be an entertainment venue as well.
