After WEEKS of brutal conversation on whether or not it's worth it to bring Ben Simmons back to the Philadelphia Sixers... it looks like an agreement has been reached considering Ben unknowingly showed up back in Philly last night.
According to CBS 3:
Sources tell Eyewitness News, the Sixers didn’t even know he was back in Philly until Monday night when he showed up for a COVID test.
And for those who are confused, Ben Simmons has been the talk of the town as he has refused to return to the Philadelphia Sixers training camps, practice games, let alone the pre-season opener yesterday.
In breach of his $177.2 MILLION dollar 5 year contract...
According to some calculations, Simmons, who is under contract for four more years, has already been fined more than $1 million for missing practices and preseason games. It’s unclear if money was a motivating factor for his return.
And as "excited" as Head Coach Doc Rivers seems to be about Bens return... I can't say Philly fans feel the same. This season shall be interesting... and full of boo's.
