Washington D.C. Using Philly Cheesesteak As 'Comfort Food' During Pandemic

I can't tell if I feel insulted or flattered that the Capitol of the US is stealing our thunder to use our Philadelphia staple signature dish as their comfort food.

I think flattered that we could be of service to our country as Washington D.C. has been home to a lot of major stressful happenings within the past year -- including the pandemic, the election, the capitol riots and so on.

But according to the Philly Inquirer, the cheesesteak has been all the rage in adding a bit of comfort to residents saying:

A cheesesteak is a big, messy mouthful, as familiar as griddled beef, as sweet as softened onions, and as soothing as a warm layer of Cheez Whiz... Eating one now feels like a visit from your best friend, the one who always knows the right thing to say, when you’re feeling down.

And we couldn't agree more! Spreading the love outside the City of Brotherly Love.
