Airbnb is cracking down on people who like to party a little too much. The company announced it will be stopping people from doing one-day rentals on New Years eve that have bad reviews. So if you have ruined someones place in the past with excessive partying you won't be able to book this year.
I'm split on this policy. If I were an airbnb owner I would be so upset if someone ruined my place then went around to destroy other people's homes with no consequences. On the other hand, half the reason to rent an airbnb on NYE is to party. Plus the deposits are there for a reason. If someone pays the deposit after messing up someone's home as long as it isn't too ridiculous why shouldn't they be able to rent again on the craziest night of the year?
Obviously depending on the amount of violence done, maybe Airbnb should just draw the line completely and kick people off the platform if they do more destruction than what is covered by the deposit.
