I am on the Friends of Love Park Committee so I've know about this for a while, but it's SO AWESOME that it's finally happening!
Yes, you can now have a REAL WEDDING in front of the LOVE in Love Park!
It happens on two Wednesdays each month. October dates that are currently open for weddings are Oct. 10 and 24.
On the first Tuesday of every month, interested couples can register at room 413 of City Hall for a 30-minute wedding in the park. The weddings last 30 minutes and take place between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. You’ll want to move fast though, because only 12 lucky couples will be married each month.
Philadelphia Parks and Recreation will do all the heavy lifting, so all you have to do is show up on your wedding day. Each couple gets a 20-foot-by-20-foot area in front of the statue for their guests, ambassadors to greet attendees and an officiant to conduct the ceremony. Ceremonies also take place rain or shine, and umbrellas are provided for the bride and groom in case of inclement weather.
I love you THIS much! ❤️ When I decided to start the challenge, I did it because I knew I needed to move more. I wasn’t happy with how I was feeling, and I thought starting with a mile was doable. I picked April because it was supposed to be an easy month. Turns out, it was the craziest month I had in a very long time. Most of you know everything that happened, how overwhelming it was, yet somehow I managed to get my mile in every single day. I want to thank every single person who not only committed to doing the challenge, but also to those who noticed it, who talked about it with me, who walked with me, who shared it with your tribe. I want to give a special shoutout to @shesmyfriend who did the @run_215 challenge in March. She is the one who initially got me motivated because of what she was doing. And she also gifted me with a really kickass running pouch! I decided to start a new challenge for May. Because why stop why you are already going? It’s called “The Extra Mile.” It’s a way to do something extra for yourself everyday that will help your health + well being. Whether it’s walk an extra mile, eat three extra green veggies, sleep an extra hour, or run a 5k, it’s about doing something extra for you.
