This is sad and hilarious all at the same time! Hilarious that they took a stroll on The Schukylkill, but said they are caged up. I have a love/dislike for zoos. I like the education, but it makes me feel sad that they are locked away from where they live.
Looks like the Zoo knew they escaped though.
A spokesperson for the Philadelphia Zoo told NBC10 they were aware the peacocks escaped.
"The Zoo is home to a free-roaming peacock flock that lives on Zoo grounds and is cared for by the Zoo's animal and veterinary staff," the spokesperson wrote. "The peacocks do sometimes venture past the Zoo's gates and typically return home on their own."
