Mochi Donuts Are The Tasty Treats You Never Knew You Needed

We love our donuts, right? Well, at least I do.

Check this out, though. Something tastier and a maybe even a little healthier than the normal American donut?

Introducing the mochi donut: made popular in Japan under the name “pon de ring” from the donut chain, Mister Donut, but now sweeping the nation as this unique bouncy concoction with its gluten-free qualities made from tapioca (or you can get the more glutinous rice flour).

You can get these mochi donuts as the airy and fried classic "pon de ring" or as a denser baked butter mochi, and I promise you it will be satisfying.

There's plenty of these mochi donut shops spread across the country, with many in Hawaii and the west coast. In Los Angeles, you can find these delicacies at Mochinut.
