You saw what Instagram did with Reels. Now, YouTube is rolling out a new short-form video maker just like them called YouTube Shorts.
The new segment of YouTube is similar to TikTok, it will let people make 15-second clips and add music to it. Currently, the music library has 100,000 tracks and will grow in the coming months. You can find the YouTube Shorts feature on the homepage.
In order to make a video, there will be a new “create” icon that will appear in the app. The “create” icon is available on the beta for Android, with iOS devices coming soon.
Right now, the YouTube Shorts feature is only in beta form in India. No word yet when Shorts will appear in other countries, including the United States.
