In true Philly fashion, some of our favorite icons in the City of Brotherly Love are paying homage to the late and great Lower Merion Alum.
August 24th marks the first annual "Kobe Bryant Day" as we honor the Black Mamba who passed away in a helicopter crash in January, along with his daughter Gianna. And although we celebrated the life of the Philadelphia Native on his birthday of August 23rd, we recognize 8/24 as Kobe Bryant day because "8" & "24" are the two numbers that Kobe adopted during his time in the NBA.
In honor of, many other Philadelphia Icons have sported Kobe gear to shine a light on the legend on his special day of recognition -- including Jason Kelce on the Eagles who practiced all day in Kobe's Lower Merion Jersey, as well as Bryce Harper who played an entire Phillies game with Kobe's Lakers jersey on underneath his uniform!
