Niall Horan Delivers Heart-Melting Performances For Solo 'SNL' Debut

Saturday Night Live - Season 45

Niall Horan made his solo Saturday Night Live premiere this weekend!

Last night (December 14), the recording artist celebrated his first-ever appearance on the late-night sketch comedy show, where he delivered two live performances. Looking dapper in his pink suit and with his guitar strapped over his shoulder, Horan commanded the SNL crowd first with an upbeat and energetic display of “Nice to Meet Ya,” during which the 26-year-old showed off his impressive guitar skills as she rocked out with his band.

Horan then treated his fans to a humble and beautiful rendition of his emotional piano ballad, “Put a Little Love On Me.” Dialing down the energy with an intimate and atmospheric stage design illuminated with soft lighting, the closing number involved nothing more than the artist sitting center stage as he belted out his haunting, heartfelt vocals. In addition to the presentations of the night, the former One Direction member also appeared in a hilarious “Hot Tub Christmas” sketch alongside Scarlett Johansson and Cecily Strong.

Horan’s solo SNL debut follows Friday’s (December 13) set at the 2019 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in New York City, where the crooner perfromed both tracks from his upcoming sophomore album including fan-favorite tunes like “Too Much to Ask,” “Slow Hands,” and “This Town” from his 2017 debut, Flicker. As previously reported, Horan will be embarking on his “Nice To Meet Ya North American Tour” in 2020 alongside fellow Jingle Ball artists Lewis Capaldi and FLETCHER— so get your tickets here!
