Disney+ Announces Gordo Will Be In The 'Lizzie McGuire' Revival

This is truly what dreams are made of! With a little help from Hilary Duff, Disney+ finally revealed Adam Lamberg will appear in the Lizzie McGuire revival. Fans of the show's original run on Disney Channel know Lamberg portrayed Lizzie's BFF/love interest Gordo. Duff and Lamberg made the big announcement on Instagram.

Up until Wednesday (November 20), it seemed as though Lamberg was not participating in the Disney+ revival. Unlike his co-star, Lamberg has pretty much stayed out of the public eye since the Lizzie McGuire Movie premiered in 2003. Duff even seemed to suggest that Lizzie had completely moved on from her childhood sweetheart in interviews about the show. The 32-year-old actress even told Vulture she wasn't "devastated" by Lizzie and Gordo's split. Duff even went on to say the fact that Lizzie found love elsewhere is actually "what was so good" about the revival script.

Duff even teased Lizzie's potential love interest was going to be another one of her middle school classmates Ethan Craft. "“He is hot. He's very hot,” Duff told E! News about a potential Lizzie/Ethan romance. “I'm pretty sure there's going to be, there's going to be a thing.”

Despite it being unclear whether Lamberg would return to the spotlight for the revival, Duff did talk about hoping Gordo would appear in the sequel series even if he and Lizzie aren't together. "It's that one person that you're like, 'Was he the one? Is it ever going to be?' You're always kind of wondering," she explained to Vulture. "We wanted it to hurt everyone a little bit, and it'll continue to hurt. I really hope he's going to be involved. We've been planning out the season and coming up with what everything looks like, and it's so important for him to be there for part of it."

Well, it looks like Duff and all the Lizzie McGuire fans out there got their wish. "Gordo was an essential piece of the puzzle to what made the original Lizzie McGuire so authentic and beloved," Duff said of Lambert's return. "I couldn't imagine the series without him. I can't wait for fans to see what he's up to 15 years later and how he fits into Lizzie's adult world."

Now we just have to keep our fingers crossed that LaLaine will also sign on for the reboot. Lizzie and Gordo just aren't complete without their BFF Miranda!
