Microsoft Japan did a trial run of "four-day work weeks", a phrase we only dream of here in America. It was part of a pilot run of their "Work-Life Choice Challenge" in the summer. The company gave employees every Friday off in August 2019 and studied their work habits and productivity levels during that time.
What they found was that productivity INCREASED about 40%, less resources naturally were being used such as water and electricity, and employees were obviously more content and happy with the work-life balance of a four-day work week.
This was a sample size of about 2,300 employees, so it seem pretty accurate.
Now, not sure if Microsoft will ACTUALLY implement the work week into practice, BUT...at least they would consider it knowing how everyone would be on board, right? I would.
