Yep, you read that right — Netflix has agreed to cancel an Amazon Prime series. Well, sort of.
So it all starts with a group called Return to Order, who was upset with Amazon’s new series, “Good Omens.” They started a petition, in fact, to get it cancelled, because they were so upset with it. The petition was called, “Tell Netflix: Cancel Blasphemous ‘Good Omens’ Series” and 20,000 signatures demanded it be cancelled.
The only problem? The show… is not on Netflix. It’s on Amazon Prime. So how did Netflix respond to this? By “cancelling” it!
They tweeted, “ok we promise not to make anymore” (get it? Because they don’t have anything to do with it!)
Amazon got in on the fun, tweeting, “Hey @netflix, we’ll cancel Stranger Things if you cancel Good Omens ;)
Suffice to say, if you’re going to start a petition about a TV show, make sure you’re talking about the right network!
