Camila Cabello tweets teenage self after big VMA win!

Camila Cabello won big at this year’s 2018 MTV Video Music Awards. The singer walked away with the VMA for Video of the Year for “Havana” and also won Artist of the Year. If only 15-year-old Camila could see all of the success in store for her! Although she can’t turn back time, the VMA winner tweeted to her teen self to share the good news.

In 2012, a teenage Camila Cabello tweeted out “#VMA2012 I wanna be there SOOOOOO bad you don’t understand #someday” What she didn’t know then is that she would spend the next six years growing her career and success and in fact make it to the VMA’s #someday. After winning Video of the Year and Artist of the Year, the now 21-year-old tweeted to her former self, “YOURE NOT GONNA BELIEVE THIS SMOL CAMILA BUT: IN 2018 MADONNA IS GOING TO GIVE YOU AN AWARD FOR VIDEO OF THE YEAR AND YOUR ACNE WILL CLEAR.”

“The nominees in both of those categories were, you know, people that inspire me tremendously and I just felt like… you know I feel like I always come into these awards show and I’m just surprised that people have nominated me or that people care that I’m here…. The last thing I expected was to be nominated for those awards and furthermore I didn’t expect to win. And then when Madonna came up, I just lost it. I was like this is too much for my little body. Too many emotions.”
