A Detail Everyone Missed In 13 Reasons Why

Warning possible spoilers below if you haven't watched "13 Reasons Why" yet:

Anyone else notice how "13 Reason's Why" seems to be set in the PRESENT?!

In a video posted online (below) Hannah is going through her phone, receiving Snapchats and text messages about the infamous hot or not list, and text message from Clay about gum-scrapping the movie theater. But before she unlocks her phone, the date reads Friday March 31. March 31st WAS a Friday this year 2017 (and also the day Netflix released the show.)

Another clue comes at the end of season one, when all of the students are being interviewed for the deposition and the time stamp-reads November 10 2017 - a date that is still in the future!

So, is "13 Reasons Why" set in real-time? Did Hannah's bulling just start? Did the parties and rapes not happen yet? Is there still time to save her? Or was this a powerful decision to show viewers that there might still be time to help someone else in need? What do you think??
