TMZ is officially reporting that the body that officials recovered today at Lake Piru is Naya Rivera, who has been missing since last week.
TMZ reports that law enforcement officials and rescue crews with Ventura County recovered the body this morning, 5 days after she was last scene at the lake.
TheWrap also appears to confirm the news saying this: "Ventura county sheriff’s department confirmed the news to TheWrap on Monday ahead of a 2 p.m. press conference."
UPDATE: The sheriff's department has officially confirmed the body was Naya's.
As we reported last week, Naya and her 4-year old son, Josey, were swimming at the lake when something went awry. Authorities came looking for the boat, and found Josey but no Naya. Josey told officials that his mom went swimming and he didn't know what happened to her.
Naya was 33. May she rest in peace.
