LA County Shutting Down Restaurants That Converted Into Temp Grocery Stores

At first, it seems like a brilliant idea...restaurants converted into temporary mini-grocery stores to help the neighborhoods they serve while supermarkets are inundated with people and supplies are at critically low levels. It's also a way for these hard-hit businesses to make up some of that lost revenue from the damage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, the Los Angeles County Health Department is cracking down on restaurants who are doing just that amid the crisis, placing these business in danger to shut down permanently, citing that they are not licensed to operate in that manner.
