'Temple Proud': Philly Utilizing Liacouras Center As Extra Hospital Space

I didn't even go to Temple University here in Philly -- but even I feel proud to call this college a staple in our city right now.

The university along with Mayor Kenney announced on Friday that the Liacouras center will be used as hospital overflow space for patients that are non-carriers of the coronavirus to limit exposure if the cases continue to rise here in Philadelphia.

“Materials and supplies will be moving into the Liacouras Center over the next few days...I sincerely hope we never have to use the supplies or this space, but we will be ready if we do.”

According to Philly Mag, the number of cases in Philadelphia have surpassed over 1,000. To see a map of the city and the area codes most heavily affected, click here.
