Amazon Surprises School with $25k in Supplies

Amazon.com shipped some happiness to a local Philly school on Thursday. Andrew Jackon Elementary in South Philly got $25,000 worth of school supplies thanks to the online giant.

Amazon surprised them by telling students there was going to be a musical event.

What's more awesome, is that teachers usually spend $1,000 of their own money on supplies. This not only helps the students but also the teachers. According to an Amazon spokesperson, teachers are going to get specific things they asked for in their classroom wish list.

Take a look at 6ABC's report:

There are tons of ways to help teachers in our community and around the world. A lot of teachers will post their wishlist for supplies on DonorsChoose.org. There are some amazing projects on there that need your help.

It's always good to see big companies like Amazon helping out in the community. Since it's such a big company it's great that they're giving back. Hopefully, more schools will be able to get donations soon.
