Jena Irene came in second place on American Idol on Wednesday night … but when she called in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Thursday morning, she sure had the spirit of a winner.
“What up you guys?” she exclaimed on the phone.
As for Idol being over, the 17-year-old admits she’s “definitely relieved. This whole process has been such a blessing, but it’s been so long and stressful. And now it’s over, and I can just have fun.”
And she did just that when she performed “Ain’t It Fun” with Paramore on the show Wednesday night.
“It was such a dream come true,” gushes Jena of singing with Hayley Williams and her band. “When I met her, she talked to me for 20 minutes. And she was so complimentary … It was such an honor to sing with her.”
Hayley even gave Jena some sage advice, like “Just to always be yourself and no matter what place you get in the competition, you’ll go far.”
