Wow, just no words for this! I couldn’t even imagine this happening to me, let alone anyone else!
James Valentine “was on this job with Adler Tree Service in Gibsonia, north of Pittsburg, and was performing maintenance work on a pine tree when the chainsaw ‘kicked back.’” Valentine is now stable after having surgery.
The director of trauma at Allegheny General Hospital, Dr. Christine Toevs said; “this kind of injury could usually cause major damage or sever the spinal cord, esophagus, or the airway. Instead, Valentine sustained most of his injuries to muscles and soft tissue around the shoulder, rather than his neck.”
Thank goodness he is okay and that his coworkers acted so quickly to get him help!
